Off with the Old, on with the New!!

As of this morning I worked my last shift as an employee of Five Rivers Medical Center. When I got off at 7AM I nearly made it out the door before some tears fell. I am looking forward to my new job but it was just difficult leaving the familiar. I start my new job on July 7th.

Tomorrow is the day we go to the lake with the grandkids. Looking forward to seeing the girls and the babies tomorrow. Maybe I'll post som pics next time from the lake.. Becky

Palestine Homecoming

Well yesterday was the Palestine Homecoming. We had about 40 people there for it. We also had our usual dinner on the ground afterward. Harmon Seawel said a few word about the past and where it all began. We were down in number this year and I think it was because there were 5 sundays in the month and it confuses people when it is. Even Don's mother thought it was next week on the last Sunday of the month. But it is always the fourth Sunday in June. I wonder if there will be some there next week for this occassion!

Saturday, we are picking up Cara's boys and taking them along with Hailey, Suzanne's daughter, to the lake. This is the first year that Jody will not be going with us. He is growing up way too fast!! He is going to go with his Uncle Jason's group to uplift at Harding this year. I know he will have a great time there, but I will miss not having him with us at the lake. Next year will be different too.. 2 new babies to go with us.

I will post some more later. Love to all from the Wilsons

Changing Jobs!!!

Well today I turned in my notice at work. My last day will be June 27th. I can't believe that I have really done it. I have been there for over 13 years. I think I needed a change. I will start working at the Harris Hospital as of July 1st as the Senior Care Nurse manager. The drive will be different since I was only a mile from this one. I am looking forward though to the change. Who would have thought that I would like the psych part of the medical field, but I do! I will try to keep you posted on how it is going. The CNO is my former CNO Judy Haney. She has been there for over a year. It will be great to see her every day.

On the home front...we are updating our home some with new bedroom furniture in the guest bedroom (Julie's old room). We are also updating the front bathroom. Don thinks it is just fine as it is (of course) but I wanted to make it newer since it is the one that I use and all the guests too. So come and see us and enjoy our changes with me...Becky

Derek's Grand Slam

We got home from ElDorado last night and had a great time with the girls and their families. We had eaten out at lunch on Thursday and it was not where Derek wanted to eat. So I told him that if he hit a homerun I would take him out to eat wherever he wanted to eat. Well, you guess it. He cam to the plate at the near end of the game and the bases were loaded. When he hit the ball I knew we were not having sandwiches at home. Great Hit Derek!!! Nana was soo happy to take you out... Of course the rest of the family enjoyed it too!
We kept Jarett for Julie and Jason's anniversary that night...About 8:30 here they came to kiss their little man goodnight. I think it was hard for them to let him stay. But they needed the alone time since Jason would be at camp for the next 2 1/2 weeks. Jarett was just great.
I must admit the first night we got there both couples had work to do for the camp coming up and Don and I kept the kids (all 4 of them) Briefly they were all so good but then both babies started to cry and we switched babies back and forth and then Don looked at me and said "Is it time to go home yet?" He did fine though he got Brylee to sleep and Julie and Jason got there in time to get Jarett to sleep..I must tell you though, they did not give us any bottles or pacifiers for him. And neither girls had their cell phones with them. We had fun!!! They all grow so fast.
Well I'll post some more another day

Keepin' the road HOT!

Don and I are back in El Dorado again. We love that both girls live in the same town and only 4 1/2 hours from us. Derek has a game tomorrow night then we're heading home Friday. We will post some pictures soon.
